Hard plaster walls remain the benchmark for traditional competition courts. We finish walls with a high-impact, low-porosity render and specialist paint to deliver a smooth, durable playing surface that resists abrasion and staining. Hard-plaster systems are ideal where permanent, tightly controlled rebound is required and when integrated with permanent lighting and spectator sight-lines.
Glass back walls are the preferred choice for modern spectator-friendly courts and for modular installations. Sunzone supplies toughened laminated or tempered glass panels engineered to sports safety standards, typically 10–12 mm thickness with specialist framing and bracing to absorb impact while maintaining full visibility. Glass installations can be single or multi-panel and are designed for quick replacement if damaged.
Hevea (rubberwood) and select maples are used in high-performance squash floor systems for their dimensional stability and consistent ball bounce. Our timber floors are laid as a sport-grade floating or nailed sub-assembly, with sprung undercarriage options to achieve the desired shock absorption and player comfort. We specify factory-finished, hard-wearing lacquer systems that meet international sports-floor standards.
Padel courts have specific, smaller dimensions and a different construction approach from squash, but many design principles carry over: correct sub-base, drainage, sight-lines, and robust framing. Sunzone provides padel court structures that are hot-dip galvanized for corrosion resistance and fitted with tempered glass panels, powder-coated frames, and LED lighting to ensure even, competition-grade illumination. Typical padel court frameworks use galvanised steel and 10–12 mm tempered glass where spectator visibility and durability are required.
All external steelwork in our court systems is hot-dip galvanised or powder-coated to prevent corrosion and extend service life in indoor and semi-outdoor installations. Frames are engineered for minimal vibration and maximum rigidity so glass panels and wall linings remain plumb and safe through repeated impacts.
Tempered or laminated safety glass panels are specified for impact resistance and acoustic control. We tune panel thickness and fixing systems to local code, expected usage and sight-line requirements.
Sunzone designs LED lighting layouts that meet uniformity and lux levels recommended for coaching and competition. Our lighting packages minimise glare on glossy walls and glass, and are energy efficient with controllable dimming for multi-use venues.

Hevea strip floors offer warm aesthetics and stable mechanical performance. We provide board options and plank profiles to match performance needs: 1 mm top veneer / thin surface option — for lower-cost, fast-install training floors. 2 mm veneer / mid-range — balanced durability with a premium look. 3 mm veneer / premium solid-feel — greatest restitution and re-sanding life. Our Hevea strip boards show natural variations such as sound knots and minor colour shifts. They are kiln-dried and factory finished for consistent moisture content and are suitable for under-floor heating when correctly installed.
